6 Canadian Hip-Hop Artists Who Are On Top of the Game Right Now

If you've been following the Hip-Hop industry latley, you've probably noticed a large rise in the number of Canadian-born artists on the come-up.  Being from Canada ourselves, we thought it'd be appropriate to cover 6 Canadian Hip-Hop artists who're on top of the game.

6. dvsn

  Originating from Toronto Ontario, dvsn is a Hip-Hop/R&B duo who specialize in chill, lounge music with a bit of a twist.  Signed to Drake's OVO Firm, the duo first began experiencing international recognition after touring with Drake for his 'Summer Sixteen Tour' last year.  dvsn recently dropped their second studio album, 'Morning After', available on Apple Music, Play Music, and Spotify.

5. Majid Jordan

With the recent release of their second studio album, 'The Space Between', Majid Jordan's fanbase has been growing quickly.  Contrary to what most people think, Majid Jordan is an R&B duo, Jordan originating from Toronto and Majid immigrating to Toronto at a young age.  

4. Baka Not Nice

Baka Not Nice, or known by his friends and family as Travis Savoury, is a rap artist from Toronto Ontario.  Before being signed to Drake's OVO Firm, Baka worked as Drake's bodyguard followed by years of legal trouble.  However, with those days behind him, Baka Not Nice has put all of his focus into his music.  Since touring with Drake for his 'Summer Sixteen Tour',  Baka has dropped three hit singles, 'Live Up To My Name', 'Money In The Bank', and 'I Am Who I Am', available on all streaming services.  It's hard not to believe that Baka is on the road to major success.

3. NAV

XO Records Signee, Navraj Singh Goraya, also known as 'NAV' to the public, has been making big moves recently.  The Rexdale Ontario born Indian rapper already has two hit albums under his belt, one a collaborative album with well-known producer Metro Boomin'.  People started to recognize NAV on a more global level after he toured with The Weeknd for Phase I of his Legend Of The Fall Tour.

2. PARTYNEXTDOOR

After doing work with Artists like Drake and Preme, PARTYNEXTDOOR, known formally as Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, has been on top of the Hip-Hop charts lately.  He recently released his fourth studio album, Seven Days, with help from OVO Firm and has seen major success.  Jahron was born in Mississauga Ontario and is currently 32 years old.

1. Belly

Belly is probably one of the most underrated rappers in the world.  His flow is comparable to that of J.Cole and even Kendrick Lamar.  Known by friends and family as Ahmad Balshe, Belly was born in Jenin Palestine but raised in Ottawa Ontario from a young age.  He is signed to XO Records and recently released his mixtape 'Mumble Rap', available everywhere.  Like NAV, Belly also toured with The Weeknd for Phase I of his 'Legend Of The Fall Tour'.
