3 Reasons I Love Living In Montréal
In June of 2013, I embarked on a journey that would forever change my view on culture and society. After experiencing the way of life in northern Europe, and absorbing their unique way of life, I was ready to come home to Canada. However, little did I know that Montréal would greatly differ from other regions in Canada. Montréal had a buzz that would make you stop and enjoy the small things in life. It was a city where there were endless opportunities to meet new people, each with a peculiar sense of fashion. For those of you who've never experienced the Montréal culture, here are 3 Reasons I Love Living In Montréal.
City View From Mount Royal
The Nightlife
Montréal is known as a hot spot for night life. Saint Catherine's Street features a clutter of different bars and clubs, each a different theme or style. Not only will you find performers in the bars, there are plenty of street performers as well.

The Scenery
For those who are unaware, Montréal means Mount Royal when translated. The reason for the city's name comes from the large mountain sitting just behind the skyscrapers. Montréal may have one of the nicest city layouts of all in my opinion. Where else can you find a mountain and skyscrapers a few kilometres away from each other? Directly across from the mountain, you can find the alluring Saint-Lawrence River, known as the gateway to the great lakes as well as the North Atlantic Ocean.

The Culture
I was recently on a small outing in downtown Montréal and happened to stumble upon a local fashion event, the Festival Mode and Design. The venue contained many eccentric and fashionable people who were all extremely passionate about their culture. With multiple local brands, there definitely wasn't a lack of diversity and originality. Although my passion surrounds the streetwear culture, I learned to appreciate the other forms of fashion there are and the people who embrace it.
